GoOrganic Candy

Feeding your children natural, organic foods, snacks, and meals can sometimes be very hard when you cannot find good quality candy, oh boy do not get me started on grocery shopping and seeing candy at the registers. Now do not get me wrong Kristopher and Kailee know better than to ask for the nasty candy at the register, but come on! They are children and children do like to have candy once in awhile (which I am completely okay with). But even more so now that I found an organic candy company! GoOrganic is 100% organic, non-GMO, gluten free, allergen-friendly, naturally flavored, made in the USA, and simply delicious (not going to lie I may have an addition to these candies). Kristopher is crazy about the peppermint candies, Kailee loves the cherry, and I am obsessed with the honey or honey-lemon ones. I have found that the honey and honey-lemon hard candies are simply amazing when it comes to sore throats these babies help me get through the sore throat without halls or medication from a doctor. I am dying to try the apple hard candies and they have a mix pack of strawberry, watermelon and mango. Well, you can give these a try for free, I have teamed up with GoOrganic for one lucky subscriber will receive 2 bags of these candies (not sure what bags or if you can pick but will find out once giveaway ends).

You can purchase your bulk candy from GoOrganic by clicking that link, you can find these in Fresh Thyme, Whole Foods Market, Sprouts, and most health food stores (I have not found them in regular stores like Kroger or Wal-Mart but does not mean you cannot look). I personally like to buy mine in bulk, because let's face the facts here, between 2 children, friends of the kids, family, and myself these babies hardly last a week in the house! My poor candy jar is visited often when the kiddos know I have GoOrganic hard candies in the box! I cannot express enough how much we love these hard candies (the chewable ones are pretty amazing too, but working on phones all day they can be a pain in the butt to chew, so I stick to the hard candies and no one knows I am eating anything).

Just a side note here, these candies are PERFECT for Halloween (yes it is sometime away and we do not take part in Halloween dress up I do enjoy handing out GoOrganic candies to the kiddies, at least I know they are getting one good treat from someone and who knows maybe the kid will love it and beg mommy/daddy to buy them again.

So yummy when you have a sore throat or stomach pains! Daniel loves them!

Kailee's favorite (have to really watch her or she sneaks them!!) :))

I love these or the plain honey hard candies... mmm in fact I am eating one as I type this!! :))

These are amazing, hard to eat while on the phone working, but pretty good nonetheless.

Chocolate Peppermint Bark

Chocolate peppermint bark is simply the easiest gift you could make anyone. I love making this for baby showers within the church (as the children eat it up and is less messy), birthday gift bags, goodie bags after a party, or for Christmas gifts or get togethers. This is always on our table during the Holidays (soon to be on the Island once we move into the house). It is kind of hard to find a good quality peppermint candy (cane or mint) that is not full of nasty additives... well look no further I have brought you the missing piece to your every longing search!! GoOrganic peppermint candies are simply amazing! Let me say this, now this is my own personal opinion not medically supported, but when Aunt Flow pays her God awful visit every month I love having these on hand for the cramps and headaches! Works like a charm! You can buy yours here in bulk from GoOrganic (I buy bulk since we go through so much with family, friends, church friends, kids, the kids friends, and well myself!! Be sure to enter the giveaway following this post below!!

You Will Need:

12 oz. Organic Chocolate
GoOrganic Peppermint Candies
Unbleached Parchment Paper

Break your chocolate into tiny pieces

Place chocolate into a heat safe glass container over simmering water (do not boil the water or it will ruin the chocolate

Place your GoOrganic peppermint candies into a ziplock

Crush them yummy babies!! It's so sad to see them crushed, but soooo yummy!

Keep stirring the chocolate until it is fully melted, I still had a little chunks still

Pour onto your parchment paper and make it an even level

Sprinkle the peppermint candies on top and place in freezer for 1-2 hours or until solid

So I had Kailee spread the rest of the peppermints on here so I could get a photo, and the child just dumps them!! haha oh well still yummy

Now wouldn't you want to give these to your family/friends for the Holidays!! Of course they will forever be thankful if you give them a homemade gift of yumminess!!

Dog Treats

Making my girls some homemade treats that are healthy for them makes me happy! Not only are these treats easy to make and affordable but they are hip/joint support for your puppy friends! As the gelatin used supports hip and joints. One thing I love about these are that dogs with sensitive tummies like IsaBella Rose can still eat them. And if your fur babies get sick and need a rice chicken broth diet to calm upset tummies these are your go too, well they are for us! Not a lot of you know but IsaBella Rose has a very sensitive stomach, she cannot have grains, dairy, beef, byproducts or she will throw up. There was a time where we had her tested for everything because she throw up almost daily, and all it was, was allergies to the food she was eating. So, we switched the food and started giving her these once or twice a week to help keep her tummy calm. And I am happy to report she has not thrown up in almost a year!! *knocks on wood!!*

You Will Need:

3 tbsp Great Lakes Gelatin
3 tbsp Water
1 1/2 Cups Organic Hot Bone Broth
Organic Cooked Rice
Silicone Mold or Ice Tray Mold

Measure your gelatin out in a separate bowl

Bowl water, add rice, and add until rice is done

I heated my chicken broth to boil in the microwave but you can def bring it to a boil on the stove
I did not picture here, but you need to add water to gelatin and mix
Then add that mixture to the broth and whisk until gelatin is dissolved

Add rice to bottom of each mold

Pour gelatin/broth mixture over rice and place in fridge for 30 minutes or until set

There they are! Gelain dog treats! I had videos of the dogs eating these but they got delete! I do have a couple photos!

They LOVED them!

Blueberry Bagels

Bagels never last in our home so it is no surprise that I have to make them often. While making a batch of my plain bagels, I decided to experiment with adding a little lemon and a blueberry puree and see how it turns out. By golly miss molly! It was amazing!!! I cannot express or explain how amazing these are! So, just give them a try and let me know what you think on facebook or here! They will knock your socks off!!

You Will Need:

1 Pint Organic Blueberries
2 tbsp Organic Lemon, juiced
1 pk Non-GMO Yeast
1 tsp Salt
5 1/2 Cups Bread Flour
2/3 Cups Water
1/4 Cup Organic Sugar, not pictured

Place water, lemon juice, and blueberries in a blender; blender until puree is smooth

Done

(see my notes hehe) Place all dry ingredients into a stand mixer

Add the puree and continue to mix

You may need a little more water, add 1 tbsp at a time; until the dough forms a ball. Continue mixing on setting 2 for 10 minutes

Place in a greased bowl

Cover and rise for 40 minutes in a warm area

Cut the dough

Weigh out 3 oz balls (this is for mini bagels)

Roll into the ball and place on a cookie sheet, rise for 20 minutes covered with a damp towel

Once done rising, place a pointer finger in the middle and spin until a big enough whole

They will not look perfect, but honestly who cares! My kids helped so they look 'goofy' (allow these to rest until water boils)

Boil water in a pot with with 6 tbsp of organic raw honey

Add four to five bagels at a time, gently

Boil for 1 minute per side

Drain and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Cool completely before eating
