Dehydrated Apple w/ Sugar

Kristopher and Kailee love dehydrated apples because they are like "chips" to them without all the nasty additives in the chips. Daniel has never been one to sit down and eat a apple or really any fruit, but I found that when I dehydrated these bad boys he was all over them! Literally ate the whole bag in one sitting. It is like the Pringles slogan says 'once you pop you can not stop'. Well here is mine for dehydrated apples, once you crunch you can not stop! Everybody loves the dehydrated apples, but adding that little extra sweetness makes these suckers stand out on there own! I love to make sure I keep these on hand, along with my other dehydrated fruits. The dehydrator I linked is affordable, BPA-Free and a brand I trust.

You Will Need:

Organic Apples
Organic Sugar
Dehydrator
Apple Core {VERY CHEAP BUT THE BEST}
Foodsaver
Foodsaver Lids for Mason Jars

Wash apples

Remove core

Beautiful organic apples- you see you can use any kind of apple

Slice on 1/32

Place sugar on plate and cover both sides with sugar

Fun but messy!

Place on dehydrator

I placed a towel under mine because it leaks sugar! lol dehydrate for 8 hours or until crisp

Store in zip lock and enjoy! Trust me they will NOT last very long!! Or you can store these in a mason jar and vacuum seal.

Canning Salsa {MRS. WAGES}

When canning anything you need to make sure to follow the directions to a tee! You cannot defer from the safe recipe that is provided to you. I do not want to name names, but I have seen some canning YouTubers who are NOT following the safe directions given to them and go off on their own doing whatever they wish. You cannot, by any means, do that unless you speak to the company first and get the approval from them. If you have no experience with canning, then I recommend starting with with this recipe as it is super easy and does not require you to have much skill {if you are new, this is a water bath canned recipe and that makes it super easy to follow along}. Sanitize your jar according to the link here! The link provided is to ball's website for beginners. And remember, when canning do it safely, according to the safe websites above and follow directions to a tee. This recipe only allows you to can in pints, so you will need 5 pint jars. You can also go to to the National Center for Home Food Preservation and find all safe recipes and how to maintain and sanitize your jars! Good luck and be safe!!

After I made this the first time, I cannot tell you how fast Daniel, Kristopher, and Kailee cowed through this stuff! AMAZING!! RIGHT?! Of course it is, but the crappy thing is I only made one batch and by the third day that batch was down from 5 pints to only 2 pints left!! I ended up having to make this 4 more times, and now we have a pretty good stock on it which is nice. Here is one thing I love, love, love about this packet... You do not have to use fresh tomatoes {you can of course, just follow directions for that- as I did not use them here}, you can use canned tomatoes which means you are able to can all winter long and restock your salsa as it exits your pantry. Because believe me once people try this salsa it will leave the pantry in a heartbeat! Here you will find Mrs. Wages packets to buy!!  I am sure I am going to be asked, I spoke with Mrs. Wages company and have proof on my FaceBook if needed, that you can blend up 3 cans of the tomatoes to make a more liquid salsa texture. My kids always dip chips for the liquid only, so I will be doing that next time I make salsa (blend 3 cans, and leave 3 cans whole).

**Hint hint!! GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT for a gift basket! {I will be doing a post on that soon!!}

You Will Need:

6 {14.5 oz} Cans Organic Petite Diced Tomatoes
1/2 Cup 5% Vinegar
1 Packet Mrs. Wages Salsa
Mason Jars, Pints
Water Bath Canner
Canning Accessories
Paper Towel or Kitchen Towel
Ball Canning Book

Loaded Chicken Potato Casserole

Casseroles are a simple meal; throw everything into a casserole dish, bake and you have dinner in a matter of 30-40 minutes. I love the idea of an easy dish; as a mother of two very active children it is hard sometimes to find time to want to cook or even do it. I love being able to do minimum work but still have the best results on our supper plates.

You Will Need:

10-15 Organic Red Potatoes
1 pk Organic Bacon, diced
2-4 Pieces of Organic Chicken
Organic Green Onions
Organic Cheese, shredded
Organic Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper
1/2 Organic Onion
Organic Parsley

Dice your potatoes, and place in casserole dish, place 4-6 tbsp of olive oil, salt, pepper, parsley and chopped onions. Bake at 475 degrees for 1 hour or until fork tender... meanwhile

Dice your bacon

Brown bacon and crisp in your skillet; save 3 tbsp of bacon grease for the chicken

Dice your chicken, season however you wish (I used homemade chicken seasoning, salt, and pepper)

Cook completely... 5-6 minutes a side on high (my chicken was cooked frozen that is why there is lots of water in the pan- no biggy)

Top chicken on the potatoes

Add cheese

Bacon

Green onions

Bake 400 degrees for 10-20 minutes or until cheese is golden brown (I used my broiler was too impatient)

Lemon Seed Tree Part 2

I know it has been a while since I updated on how my lemon trees are doing. I have been extremely busy with kids school, YouTube, other blog stuff, and so much more so I am sorry. But here is a picture update of them! They are doing amazing!! Stay tuned I am currently working on Cherry tree from pits. As you can see in the pictures below, small space has not stopped me from gardening! I plated green beans, lemons, apple, cucumbers and zucchini; nothing holds me back! The lemon plants are doing amazing! I am very happy with the little seedlings. These probably will not get much bigger than this at least this year they will not. This is about how big a 6 month old lemon tree looks and by the end of the year it should be double in size. Since I will be moving it INDOORS at winter time, it will continue to grow and I am going to have to move them to their own pots, or cut some away that are not doing the best. (you can see which ones those are- not hard to tell). Anyhow, this is the update.. I will try to update every 6 months, next time should be when I move them back indoors and at that time I will fill you in on what I did to reduce. (then after winter, we will be HOUSE HUNTING!! cannot wait!! because I have SOOOO many gardening items coming your way!! Raised bed videos, and trees I am starting to grow now to transport when we buy the house so they are ready to go!!)

Tyme Iron

This past Saturday, July 9th 2016, my family (husband, kids and myself) had a HUGE ceremony at our Church. It was our Baptism, Vow Ceremony and First Communion! VERY big day for us! With having little to no time to get ready for this big ceremony, the Tyme iron was extremely handy. I have to wake up early, after staying up until 2 AM finishing up my crockpot yogurt, woke up at about 9 AM, had to make breakfast for the whole family, and start getting everyone ready. Kristopher, Kailee, myself, Daniel, my mom and stepfather all needed to shower before we left (since we were swimming the night before). Then the girls all needed to blow dry our hair and do something with it. I plugged in my Tyme iron and boy was I impressed by how fast it headed up! It took less than a minute!! I straightened Kailee's hair and mine in under 20 minutes (mine took longer because well it is very long). My mother than did her hair, and decided to try out the curling feature of it. One thing she did mention is how much she loved how fast she was able to put volume and curl in her hair in no time.

I managed to get some photos of my hair, when I first got the Tyme iron I was playing around with it trying to figure it out because let's face the facts, when you get something new you play around with it until you understand it. It did not take long to figure out, but I was a little confused at first with how to curl my hair.. so I reached out on Youtube and found the Tyme iron channel. I have to say I am extremely thankful for that channel or I would have been confused on how to use it. The Tyme iron has two sides, the gold plates facing out is straightening your hair and the side with the brown facing out is going to curl your hair.

BE SURE YOU PICK YOURS UP HERE!!

http://www.tymestyle.com

Unboxing my Tyme Iron!! Sorry for the bad camera skills, Kailee recorded this! haha =]]

Okay, I should have cleaned my mirror, but who are we kidding! This was taken at midnight!! Yup, I am that person who stays up until 1 AM playing around with new 'toys' (in this case it was my new Tyme iron).

I am obsessed with the color and design of this iron! The 'V' shape is cool too; it allows for curling and straightening in the same iron and I love that

Kailee allowed me to take before and after photos of her hair. This is the before; her hair is everywhere!

Here I am straightening it. When using the flat iron side of the iron you want to make sure the gold plates are facing you, so you see them. To curl your hair you want to see the brown side facing you

I played around with Kailee's hair and the Tyme Iron and boy I am in love!! I cannot believe how amazing this iron is!! Here are the pictures of it, above and below! I am not going to lie, it took me a couple days to figure out how to curl my hair with it and Kailee's. But once I figured it out I was so happy!

Crispy Chicken Sandwich

Crispy chicken does not have to be looked at as a 'bad' meal or a meal you only have once in a while. As long as you use pure ingredients and good quality cook oil to fry in then the meal does not have to be so 'bad'. I cannot get enough of these sandwiches!! So amazing!! Give them a try and let me know what you think and if you like them because I truly believe these will be a family favorite!

You Will Need:

Organic Chicken Breast, cut in half
1 Cup Organic Buttermilk, homemade
3 tbsp Organic Chicken Spice
Buns
Organic Green Leaf Lettuce
Organic Tomatoes
Organic Mayo
2 Cups Organic Flour
Organic Coconut Oil, frying
Salt

Add your dry seasonings

And buttermilk, mix well and refrigerate for 3-6 hours

THE ONLY oil I will fry with!

Dip chicken in flour

Both sides

Fry each side until golden brown (about 6-7 minutes)

Beautiful!

Add mayo to your bun (ours is homemade, if you want to see that recipe let me know)

Add lettuce and tomato, salt the tomato

Top with chicken and top bun and wah bam!
